Neptune Pacific Direct Line (NPDL) is the leading shipping company connecting Asia, Australia and NZ to the Pacific. We are experiencing a period of significant growth, building capacity and capability across our network.
We operate 11 containerships, moving +240k TEU across various ports in 16 countries, in partnership with Maersk, CMA/ANL and PIL. NPDL is part of The Wonderful Company headquartered in the USA (including Fiji Water).
Job Description You will form part of the backbone and small but mighty support team that are responsible for all containers and container related activities across the NPDL group and some of our external partners. They work tirelessly to ensure that the services they provide are effective and efficient, in order to meet business needs. You will comfortably operate in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage your own workflow by juggling requests from both suppliers, customers and your team. This exciting opportunity is a 13-month fixed-term contract, covering parental leave.
What you will be doing:
Maintain accurate records by reconciling data and updating relevant systems to ensure consistency and compliance.
Monitor and analyze container flow performance, ensuring timely returns from export destinations to base locations in a cost-efficient manner.
Liaise with internal teams and external partners to drive results, resolve issues, and continuously improve processes.
Qualifications Here's what you'll bring to the table:
Experience in a similar role within the shipping or logistics industry is preferred but not required.
Effective communicator with the ability to drive outcomes.
Proficient user in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in Excel.
Experience with working with databases is desirable but not essential.
Process driven individual, with strong planning, problem solving and analytical skills.
Organised with a sense of urgency.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to plan your work well ahead of time.
This role is based in Parnell, and we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and thrive in a dynamic team environment. Being adaptable, flexible and a forward thinker will really help you succeed in this role. You will excel working in a fast-paced environment where there is a lot of variety, and no 2 days are the same. Please note with any roles in shipping you may need to be flexible and adaptable with your hours as after hours or weekend work may be required depending on vessel schedule.
