Environmental Compliance and Monitoring OfficerWe are recruiting for an Environmental Compliance and Monitoring Officer to ensure that developments are built, and activities are carried out in accordance with approved resource consents, the District Plan and Resource Management Act 1991.
Your scope will be truly diverse and will include monitoring compliance with conditions of resource consents, investigations into breaches of the District Plan, carrying out enforcement duties and providing advice to Council on compliance issues under the Resource Management Act 1991.
The successful candidate will need to have:
Experience in investigations, giving advice regarding compliance issues and carrying out enforcement.A qualification in resource management or planning would be an advantage.A strong understanding of the Resource Management Act 1991 and knowledge of other relevant legislation.You will need to be a team player and have first-class communication and organisational skills.
You will be highly motivated, with excellent time management, administration and prioritisation skills as this role is accountable for booking their own inspections and recording day-to-day tasks.
The right to work in New Zealand and a current, full drivers' license is mandatory.
