Some occasional extra-curricular duties/travel may be required.Successful applicants will be trained, qualified, registered teachers; able to travel independently to rural schools as required (costs reimbursed). Piano skills an advantage.Positions:(1) Voice – Part-time (incl Choir)(2) Flute – Part-time(3) Single reed woodwind – Part-time (Clarinet, saxophone, bands)Applicants must have:Skills and experience in teaching a wide range of styles.A good understanding of the Music curriculum (Years 9-13).The ability to assist with NCEA performance preparation and assessment.The ability to direct both large and small vocal ensembles.Experience teaching individual and group lessons.Flexibility within repertoire and a willingness to work with the varying requirements of a diverse range of music departments.Experience with Musical Theatre, Maori, Pasifika and/or contemporary repertoire would be an advantage.The successful applicant needs to have current NZ teacher registration (preferred) or a Limited Authority to Teach (LAT).Valid NZ Driver Licence and a reliable vehicle are required, as the role includes some travel to schools outside the Christchurch metropolitan area.
