Requirements Are you looking for an ER role you can own and make a positive difference? As an Employment Relations Specialist, your role will involve driving the development of employment and industrial relations strategies, policies, and practices for the Brosnan Group. You will also be responsible for implementing and delivering key programs. Your expertise in employment relations will be utilised to provide advice to managers on performance management and dispute processes. Additionally, you will be required to stay up to date with employment legislation and other matters that impact employee conditions in the workplace. Duties & Responsibilities Provide practical guidance and support to employees and managers as required, providing recommendations for proactive or corrective action when necessary. Work with people managers and supervisors (e.g. Construction Managers, Construction Supervisors, Site Managers, etc.) closely and early regarding employment issues, including site visits, close support, and pre-emptive and ongoing training. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management records and tracking, providing key metrics monthly and utilising data to make informed action plans. Develop and deliver training (one-to-one and workshops, face-to-face and virtually) to people managers on conflict resolution techniques, key ER scenarios, and updates on employment law as required. Review and develop robust employment policies and procedures that comply with New Zealand employment laws and promote fair and equitable treatment of employees. Act as the company's representative, if required, for mediation, negotiation, or arbitration processes, aiming to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for both parties while minimising legal risks. Liaising with external subject matter experts as required. Staying up to date on best practices in ER as the subject matter expert to ensure compliance and effectiveness and sharing updates with colleagues in the wider HR team. Skills & Experience 3+ years' experience in NZ employment relations and employment processes. Proven track record of successfully managing all aspects of Employee Relations from the initial stages to the final resolution. A talent for establishing and nurturing strong connections with others and providing exceptional coaching to people managers. Expertise in managing employee grievances, taking disciplinary actions, and resolving conflicts in the workplace. The ability to conduct thorough investigations and provide timely resolutions. A passion for training, coaching, and sharing best practices. A natural enthusiasm for promoting a positive work environment and fostering collaboration.
