Industrial & Employee Relations (Human Resources & Recruitment) Full time The Employment Relations Manager supports the activities of the Police Association Group. Based in the National office in Wellington, this position works closely with the President, the Senior Leadership group and a team of Employment/Senior Employment advisors to deliver outstanding service to NZPA members across a wide range of employment issues. This role is a key contributor to the strategic direction of the Police Association with a direct advisory role to the board of directors. The role will lead the negotiation of collective agreements and advocate for our members. About you We are looking for someone who has strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and inspire a small team. You will have advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues. You have the ability to influence and persuade people both internally and externally to the organisation. You will be self-motivated and strong direction to get things done. The team would thrive with someone who has strong problem solving and decision-making skills. To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will have: Advanced negotiation and mediation skills Solid understanding of the state sector environment and general employment law. Experience in policy development. Suitable tertiary/post graduate qualifications and/or extensive employment relations experience is necessary. A pragmatic and practical approach with the ability to think laterally. Proven ability to identify and manage risks as it relates to areas of responsibility. Personal commitment to ongoing training and upskilling. Understanding and appreciation of the wide multi-cultural diversity of Aotearoa.
