Korero mo te turanga - About the role If you are an experienced HR Business Partner who can hit the ground running in a complex work environment, then this is the role for you! This fixed term opportunity, from now until 30 June 2025, will play an important role in ensuring the success of the organisation for significant programmes of work in the year ahead. Operating in partnership with people leaders and key stakeholders, you will support the development of strategic people projects and change management initiatives and ensure these are successfully implemented and embedded in your groups. You will be proactive at identifying HR business partnering opportunities and recommend solutions by leveraging your extensive experience, insights and knowledge to help achieve business objectives. You will quickly develop an in-depth understanding of your groups' priorities, needs, challenges, and risks and apply a people lens to everything you do. Work in this role includes but is not limited to: Managing the relationship with your group(s) on behalf of the People Division, providing expert strategic HR advice ensuring you are sought after as a trusted and credible HR Business Partner. Contributing to the development and implementation of HR initiatives and programmes of work, which meet the needs of the Ministry. Coaching senior leaders on the people responsibilities and requirements of their roles to ensure a happy, healthy, and high-performing organisation. The full salary range for this role is $124,674 and $168,676 total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution. Due to the level of experience we are looking for in this role, we expect to appoint around the midpoint $146,675 negotiable depending on your level of experience. Ma wai te mahi nei? You will be known for your proactive and empowering partnership approach, your strategic thinking and people-focused execution, and sought after for your excellent judgement. We'd like to hear from you if you are an experienced HR Business Partner with the following skills and experience: Must have a minimum of 3 years strategic HR Business Partnering experience. Must have proven experience leading and supporting organisational change, including developing and implementing a vision. Must have strong consulting and influencing skills with the ability to build valued relationships with senior leaders, and challenge effectively when required. Must have the capability to create, manage, implement, and improve HR solutions so they are right for the organisation. Must have exceptional planning, prioritisation and organisational skills. Must have high level of agility, energy and curiosity. As a Te Tiriti o Waitangi partner, ideally you will have a good understanding of tikanga (Maori customs and protocols) with the ability to weave te ao Maori (the Maori worldview) into your work, and a willingness to develop your cultural capability further.
