About the role
Our Duty Managers are influential leaders within our Recreation team. This exciting and busy role will keep you on your toes as you manage our recreation facilities on a day-to-day basis. If you are ready to step up and step into a role that is varied and challenging, this could be the job for you.
You will be responsible for:
Managing and monitoring operational requirements, cleanliness and functionality of our aquatic facilities and assets.
Effectively leading our team of Arena Aquatic kaimahi to ensure that our activities are delivered to a high standard every day.
Being a champion for health and safety in our facilities, monitoring and assessing our health and safety practices and promoting a positive safety culture.
Leading and championing our customer experience approach as you interact with a high level of customers on a daily basis.
Managing escalated customer complaints and striving to achieve a fair resolution while maintaining a cool, calm and collected manner at all times, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving.
Problem-solving, at times being the most senior kaimahi/staff on duty.
Monitoring the security of the building during opening hours and ensuring safe opening and closing procedures are followed at all times.
The position will have rostered shifts working any day of the week, working a combination of early and late shifts, early starting at 5am and late shifts ending at 10pm.
About you
We are looking for a leader who takes pride in our amazing recreation facilities, promotes safety in the workplace and puts customer service at the heart of everything they do. You'll need to be team-focused and keen to step up into this varied and challenging role.
Some of the skills and experience you can demonstrate will be:
Experience working in the aquatic environment, facilities management experience and a passion for customer service.
An engaging leadership approach and experience effectively leading others.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience building good working relationships.
Sound judgment, initiative and problem-solving abilities.
A great understanding of Health and Safety at work and promoting a safe approach in all that you do.
Availability to work every day of the week, working a combination of early and late shifts, early starting at 5am and late shifts ending at 10pm.
Bringing maturity to the role, with the ability to be the most senior kaimahi/staff on duty.
