Over the past 12 months, Te Ihuwaka has advised government on what needs to change across a wide range of issues including mathematics teaching, school attendance and support for new teachers.What You'll Do : Lead with Vision: Develop and implement a bold strategic vision for Te Ihuwaka.Drive Excellence: Oversee high-impact research and evaluation projects.Inspire and Mentor: Lead, mentor, and grow a talented team of researchers.Engage and Influence: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and represent Te Ihuwaka on national and international stages.Manage with Precision: Ensure the Centre operates efficiently within budget and achieves its financial targets.About You: We want to hear about any of the following in your cover letter and CV:We are keen to hear from you if you thrive when working at pace and are a proven leader who supports your team to deliver high quality work on time.You are a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of New Zealand's policy environment.You don't need a research background - we have an established method, and if you have experience at director level in government, either in policy, strategy or research roles, and are willing to learn, we can teach you how we do our work.You will bring project leadership experience, exceptional writing skills and a collaborative approach to your work. Our leadership team is collectively responsible for the delivery of our work programme, so being able to flex to help your colleagues succeed is a must.You will be comfortable with ambiguity, driven to succeed, and committed to putting children at the heart of the matter.Ideally you'll have experience working in education.You will also have knowledge and experience, or willingness to learn about Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Tikanga, Te Reo and Te Ao Maori.This is your chance to help shape education in Aotearoa New Zealand, contribute to building the evidence base for education, and to see your work have a real impact on education outcomes.
