The Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whitau Tuhono was founded in 1994 as a non-profit, non-partisan organisation dedicated to building New Zealand's links with Asia. The Foundation has grown into a unique organisation with contacts in New Zealand and offshore, across all sectors of society and at all levels with support from both private and public sectors.
Reporting to the the Chief Executive, the Director, Operations is a newly created role responsible for supporting the CEO to develop, analyse, and implement strategic planning for the organisation ensuring the Foundation's functions and responsibilities are fulfilled.
You will also have oversight of the functions of human resources, health and safety, governance, finance and risk, property, information services (records management) and information technology. The position provides strategic oversight, operational support and guidance, to the corporate team and to programme leads.
Key responsibilities will include;

Actively contributing to AsiaNew ZealandFoundation's strategic direction as part of the senior leadership team
Maintaining overall responsibility for the day-to-day corporate services functions
Ensuring the planning and delivery of core operations and high-quality services
Managing the governance requirements of the Foundation
Overseeing the smooth running of the three offices (Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch)
Effectively leading the team to ensure they are engaged and high performing, including staff management activities, coaching and development.

To succeed in this role, it is essential that you have the personal drive and leadership sophistication to be able to influence a broad range of stakeholders, both within the organisation and externally.
Your experience as a senior leader will be evidenced in your ability to think strategically, whilst also managing clearly defined outcomes to achieve the goals of the Chief Executive, Board of Trustees, and Board Chair. A background in a senior operational leadership role in a similar context would be advantageous.
