Director, IT at Ministry for Pacific Peoples, Wellington - Wairarapa About the role
As the Director, IT you will lead a small team of ICT professionals responsible for IT systems and security that provide the Ministry for Pacific Peoples with fit-for-purpose data management and software/hardware solutions. This is a varied role with opportunities to further develop the ICT Strategy and roadmap, and work across all ICT solutions across their full lifecycle.
Your direct reports are a mix of permanent and contract staff who provide the ongoing operational support of the ICT environment, and you will provide both operational and strategic leadership, along with coaching and mentoring. Additionally, you will also act as the Ministry's Chief Information Security Officer.

Experience providing ICT leadership in a government organisation.
Good understanding of government data, security and regulative/legislative requirements.
Experience implementing and leading programmes of work.
Experience in ICT change implementation across an organisation.
Good understanding of strategy development and implementation, and technology architecture and design principles and processes.
Ability to build excellent relationships externally and internally.
