General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management)IPU New Zealand is an innovative PTE situated on an attractive campus of 21.5 hectares on the outskirts of Palmerston North, New Zealand. IPU New Zealand was established in 1990 and has been operating for more than 30 years as a trailblazer of international education. All undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are fully accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).IPU New Zealand is a member of the SOSHI Educational Group that provides education to more than 20,000 students at pre-school to tertiary levels worldwide. Established in 1966, SOSHI Educational Group has educational and research institutes and offices in Japan, New Zealand, USA and Vietnam, including International Pacific University (IPU Japan) in Okayama Prefecture, Japan.Are you an experienced, high performing, internationally focused business executive? If yes, please apply as we have the following position available:Position: Director – GeneralLocation: IPU New Zealand, 57 Aokautere Drive, Palmerston North and other places the Employer appointsHours of work: Thirty-five (35) hours per weekRemuneration: NZ$110,000 to NZ$120,000 per annum (including accommodation allowance and vehicle allowance)Key tasks include:Help develop and implement the strategic plan and annual business plan of the Institute by providing advice to the Board of Trustees in cooperation with Senior Management Board members (including President – Academic and Director – Academic) and communicating the BOT's directives to the staff in New Zealand. Oversee implementation of goals and targets as set by the BOT. Set annual goals with managing staff and measure outputs.Manage the operational activities of the Institute in the areas of Academic Registry and Admissions, Administration, Facilities Management (including IT, Dining Hall, Gardening, Maintenance, and Health & Safety), Finance, Human Resources, Library, Student Support (including Academic Learning Support, Career Support, Recreation, and Residential Services), Public Relations, and Marketing/Student Recruitment.Liaise with external organisations to ensure the vision and mission of the Institute is well understood and that the organisation is compliant with relevant regulations.The successful candidate should possess the following attributes:Proven record of leadership and successful management at a top management level, particularly in international and multi-cultural environments.Successful experience in marketing strategy development and implementation in an international business setting.Ability to work comfortably in a multicultural environment with staff, clients, and other stakeholders including the Board of Trustees members who reside in Japan. Japanese language proficiency is an advantage.A relevant postgraduate tertiary qualification. Any education in international environments would be beneficial given the focus of IPU New Zealand on international education.Commitment to a client-centred approach to service delivery.Strong communicator – in oral and written forms.Ability to formulate and implement decisions based on analysis of situations, investigation, and appropriate interpretation of regulations.Strength to see and achieve objectives and make effective use of resources.We will immediately review your application and contact you for an interview if you are shortlisted.
