Clever Core New Zealand is an off-site manufacturer of the structural core for residential housing. We work with architects and designers to develop plans that are compatible with our large-scale automated manufacturing process. These plans are used to manufacture closed wall panels, and floor and roof cassettes in our manufacturing plant in Wiri and then shipped and assembled on-site by our assembly team to complete our customer offering. Offsite manufacturing is considered one of the best practices for streamlining the production of homes at scale and pace.We have a vision at Clever Core New Zealand, and that is to create a positive culture across our operations through solid leadership and people managers that focus on bringing the right people into the business. With a focus on training and developing, we care about what we do and how we do it, and this mindset is top of the list for each person we bring into the business.The RoleAs a Design Technician, you will be responsible for the modelling of designs for fabrication to enable the manufacturing of our products in the Clever Core plant. The role is required to provide technical expertise across all aspects of the process and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the panelisation building systems are optimised for both design, engineering, manufacturing, and assembly.You will work closely with our internal Design Project Leads, the plant manufacturing team, Technical Manager, and QA team to ensure successful outcomes for both the plant and our customers are achieved.About YouWe are looking for someone who has a keen eye for detail and thrives in an innovative and changing environment. You'll need the ability to develop strong relationships across all stakeholder groups and not be afraid to challenge accepted practices and introduce new perspectives on design. The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience:Formal qualifications in either Architecture, Engineering or DesignExperience in both 2D and 3D CAD modelling – we use HSBCAD at Clever CoreExperience with Prdya detailing preferred but not essentialKnowledge of residential consenting and master planning processesKnowledge of offsite house construction methodologies/techniquesKnowledge of DFMA (design for manufacturing & assembly) principles would be ideal but not essentialApplication ProcessApplications should be made by submitting a CV and letter outlining your interest, motivation and what you would bring to this role by way of background, experience and fit for the role and our team.
