About the role The role sits at the top of MPP's Commissioning & Partnerships Directorate, strategically driving every facet of the commissioning cycle – from planning and design to monitoring and review.
By upholding Pacific values, you will lead national and regional functions that ensure investment, procurement, probity, and contract administration adhere to the highest standards.
The Deputy Secretary is also responsible for building and maintaining relationships with other government agencies and Pacific Aotearoa communities to deliver value on key initiatives and work programmes.
The position may be based in Manukau or Wellington.
About you Pacific Knowledge and Commitment: Ability to identify, and sensitivity to, the cultural values and particular needs of Pacific Communities.
Leadership and People Management: Demonstrated success as a credible and persuasive people leader who inspires teams for exceptional performance.
Strategic Commissioning: Proven experience in strategically developing, implementing, and monitoring commissioning functions is key, as is the ability to apply organisational best practices and promote innovative solutions to national and regional challenges.
Relationship and Stakeholder Management: Ability to build, influence, and leverage relationships for the betterment of MPP and Pacific communities, including collaboration with Ministers and other stakeholders to deliver strategic priorities.
Government and Political Acumen: Good understanding of New Zealand's machinery of government and the processes, systems, and tools that facilitate the commissioning of services tailored to Aotearoa's unique needs.
