Details of the offer

Thank you for your interest in this position. We have received your application from Indeed, so the first step of your application is complete. To finish your application we will email you further details. OTS Case Manager Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora – Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District Contract: Full-Time (1 FTE) & Permanent Salary: MECA Dependent - Step 1 to Step 8. We are looking for a Registered Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist to join our Opioid Treatment Service (OTS). The role of the OTS is to provide substitution medications alongside support for social and mental health needs. We are a community-based team that works with people who experience opioid dependence and the hazards and harms associated with this. The team conducts comprehensive assessments of opioid use, other addiction issues, mental health difficulties, physical health difficulties, social needs, and cultural needs. If substitution is indicated then people are administered substitution medications, initially at our clinic and then at community pharmacies. Once people are taking substitution medication, our Case Managers meet with them regularly to check the safety of the medications and ensure that other recovery goals are progressing. We have stable staffing levels and good workflow management, which means that our caseloads are half the national average for an OTS service. These low caseloads allow staff to be very intentional when working with people, take on other roles of interest within the service, and work on their professional development goals. CCDHB Tuhonohono Addiction Services is a multidisciplinary team comprising nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, medical, and administration staff. We are a collective of skilled professionals that value working in a client and whanau-centered manner, including cultural and community connections, to deliver high-quality services. The team offers specialist services for adults experiencing addiction and mental health problems, focusing on providing evidence-based interventions. We strive to create a climate of safety for ourselves and colleagues and have been found to be one of the safest and most supportive workplaces in CCDHB. We are dedicated to staff development and run specialist in-service training, cultural supervision, and comprehensive orientation packages. Our staff are encouraged and supported to complete further education and have completed Post-Grad Certificates in areas such as Nursing, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. An understanding of Te Ao Maori, including Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Tikanga, and Te Reo would be an advantage. Previous experience of working in the Mental Health and Addiction sector and evidence of competency in this specialist area is also an advantage. However, our roles do not become available very often, so we are keen to find a good fit and would welcome a less experienced candidate who can develop rapidly. Duties Support clients' mental health and addiction needs. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Engage clients in their recovery journey. Work effectively with addiction and mental health difficulties. Undertake comprehensive assessments and planning. Work closely with other services and NGOs. Skills and Experience The successful applicant will have the following skills and attributes: Appropriate qualification related to discipline. Registration with the appropriate organization. Ability to relate well to a wide variety of people. Here at Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District, we embrace diversity and welcome applications from all people, including all gender identities, ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, disabilities, and religions. A workforce that is diverse and inclusive means that we are better positioned to understand and serve our community. Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District is a pro-equity health organization, with a particular focus on Maori, Pacific Peoples, and the Disability Community.
