We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Identity team. The Data Scientist will:
Test, tune, monitor, develop, and optimise the behaviour of the identity matching engines. Identify business problems and/or business risks and develop innovative solutions for implementation.Provide complex statistical analysis of and recommendations for the maintenance, upgrade or improvement of biometric or biographic matching systems.Help monitor the stability of Identity systems and troubleshoot issues with the system as they arise.Support the quality assurance process in Identity.Advance forecasting of identity resolution volumes.MBIE supports a wide range of flexible working arrangements. Nga pukenga me nga wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience RequiredTo be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate that you have experience in, or have the qualities that would enable you to successfully perform, the following tasks:
Competent in the use of data querying, analytical and modelling tools both in SQL and R.Experienced in using advanced analytic methods to conduct complex analyses of large amounts of data.Experienced in working across multiple analysis disciplines and processes.Experienced in using analytics modelling or statistical analysis in a risk and/or operational research environment.Capable of translating complex and technical information into information easily understood by non-technical staff.Professionally active and aware of recent developments in methodologies and practices.Versed or interested in record management, biographic matching, biometric matching, identification sciences and identity management.Tertiary qualification to at least master's level, preferably in statistics, data science, econometrics, computer science, operations research, quantitative social-behavioural science, or a similar discipline or equivalent work experience.Able to build productive working relationships.Able to understand and process new information quickly.Have excellent organisational and time management skills.To apply for this position applicants must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a New Zealand Permanent resident visa.
