Originating from scenic train travel, we now offer Scenic Day Trips, Short Breaks & fully guided multi-day tours.He whakamarama mo te turanga mahi| About the role:As a Customer Host, you'll be the friendly face delivering an exceptional on-board experience for KiwiRail's Scenic Plus passengers. You will ensure that all our passengers enjoy an outstanding experience while travelling on our services. You will be responsible for delivering a first-rate food and beverage service and provide a prompt and professional service to our passengers at all times. This role is key to ensuring every journey is memorable, safe, and enjoyable for all.Key Responsibilities:Provide prompt, professional customer service to passengers throughout their journey.Serve food and beverages while maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.Offer tailored assistance, from luggage handling to safety updates during disruptions.Maintain high standards of personal presentation to enhance the Scenic Plus brand.Support team members with daily operations and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.Nga pukenga e rapu nei matou | What (skills) you will bring:We're looking for individuals who thrive in dynamic, customer-facing environments:Essential skills:Proven customer service experience preferably in a hospitality environment.NCEA level 3 or equivalent.Ability to gain and maintain certifications in First Aid, Tunnel & Gas Awareness, Emergency procedures, Food & Hygiene and liquor license.Be in good health and able to pass the company's medical standards.Strong ability to communicate confidently and enjoy interacting with our passengers.Good level of physical fitness as this role requires long days working, standing on a moving train and lifting loads up to 20kg.You will have numeric acumen and be able to accurately handle cash and conduct stock takes.A can-do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile.Nou te rourou | What's in it for you:Competitive hourly rate and great benefits.Access to discounted health insurance for you and the whanau.A fantastic team culture.Ongoing training and development.Kua rite, kia rite | Ready to Make a Difference?Our people are everything.
