Job DescriptionCourt Registry Officer, Thames District Court / Central RegionFixed Term, Full Time, 18 monthsTe Haeata/The OpportunityCourt Registry Officer - in this role you will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders who are interacting with the Justice system. This includes being able to communicate confidently with Judges within the courtroom and their chambers, as well as other members of the judiciary.The tasks required in the CRO role include but are not limited to:Court Taking – this is the facilitation of running the court. This includes introducing Judges (in English and Te Reo Maori), working closely with them in the Courtroom and Chambers, managing jurors and general administration of the court.Case Management – taking responsibility for ensuring that the Judiciary and case parties have all the information they need, and that logistics are in place to ensure cases are heard in a timely and effortless manner.Customer Service – interacting with customers on any court related matter. Customer queries can come in via face to face, phone or email interactions – so you will need to be confident with all methods.Travel within the Waikato Courts may be required therefore must have a full clean New Zealand driving licence.O Pukenga/Skills And ExperienceYou will be able to demonstrate strong customer service skills, quality decision-making, be solutions-focused and have the personal confidence and resilience to adapt to a dynamic work environment.To Be Successful, You Will Need To BeDetail-orientated and observant – the court has many different processes, and case information needs to be accurate.Self-aware – our participants are unique, and you will be confident working, individually and as a team, across various situations.Able to multi-task – some of our processes are repetitive, so you will be able to manage conflicting priorities and move from one task to another quickly.Willing to learn – legislation and court processes are always changing, and you can adapt and maintain knowledge capital.Resilient – As a Court Registry Officer, you might work on sensitive cases, sometimes at high volume.Even if your experience looks a little different from what we have outlined and believe you can bring value to the role, we'd love to hear from you!Mo Matou/About UsAt Te Tahu o te Ture - the Ministry of Justice, we're committed to working together for a fair and safe Aotearoa.
