Location: Cromwell Salary: $71,000 - $91,000 (Pro-rata based on experience and qualifications) Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time (12-16 hours per week) About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and professional Counsellor to provide bereavement and grief counselling services as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Based in Cromwell and servicing the surrounding rural areas, this permanent part-time position is ideal for someone dedicated to making a positive impact in the community.
You will work closely with registered nurses, social workers, and other medical practitioners to offer support in a holistic and culturally sensitive manner.
The role involves a blend of face-to-face, online, individual, and group counselling sessions, with flexibility on working hours and days.
You'll benefit from ongoing learning opportunities with supervision, training, and education to support your professional growth.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver professional counselling services to clients, including those in the bereavement period.
Provide support for individuals and their whanau, helping to strengthen informal support networks.
Travel to rural regions as needed, offering counselling in various settings.
Engage in education and training within the organisation and community.
Manage a caseload effectively, ensuring timely and equitable access to services.
What You Bring: A relevant tertiary qualification in counselling or psychotherapy.
Full membership with NZAC or an equivalent professional body.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
An understanding of the cultural and ethnic sensitivities of your clients, with a commitment to honouring the Treaty of Waitangi.
A clean, unrestricted driver's licence, as travel is required.
