Job Summary
We are currently seeking to appoint a Continuous Improvement Manager at our Taura site in Mount Maunganui. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a full-time permanent position that has key functional relationships with many facets of the business. This job is responsible for delivering continuous improvement projects and production improvements, whilst also growing business improvement systems that drive operational excellence and a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Operating system roll-out and best practice implementation across the plant. Setup processes to drive problem-solving at every level and function. Setup processes to drive employee capability development to build multi-skilled employees.
Optimise the process to improve yield, reduce cost, and simplify systems. This includes leading technical projects regarding optimisation or cost reduction.
Accountable for leading the cost reduction programme, driving sustainable improvement throughout the business. This includes identifying and prioritising improvement opportunities, coordinating activities, assisting in the development and employment of the problem-solving program, and helping provide visibility of the program.
Improve plant yield by managing rework inventory – with a nil wastage approach.
Ingrain EHS and food safety in continuous improvement projects and program implementation.
What you will need to be successful
Bachelor's degree in food production or food engineering.
At least 10 years of working experience in food production.
Good understanding of manufacturing costs.
Strong interpersonal and influence skills.
Strong analytical and statistical skills.
Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the plant.
Preferred Experience
Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
FSSC22000/HACCP Certified.
Prior experience in continuous improvement initiatives and Lean implementation is a plus.
