About The Role: Our Defence and ICT team within our Telecommunications division are seeking a Construction Manager to deliver commercially successful outcomes for scope, time, budget, and quality for a specific area as defined by the contract whilst meeting the project requirements, minimising risk and compliance with the CRC.
The Construction Manager sets up early works, delivery and completion systems and processes, coordinates teams, monitors and reports on productivity, drives performance and implements strategies to improve programme and margin, in accordance with Company policies and the Project Management Plan (PMP).
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Collaborate with Commercial Managers and Engineering teams to develop construction plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client requirements. Advise commercial and procurement teams on construction or resourcing methodologies that can reduce cost or time. Ensure the construction team have the effective construction programming tools and methodologies are implemented accordingly. Review program of works, assist with the development of resourcing plans and ensure resources are used efficiently and productivity is maximised. Ensure HSE plans are effectively implemented and monitored and that all Ventia employees & subcontractors comply accordingly. Ensure Quality plans are implemented and the process surrounding subcontractor engagement is clearly understood by the construction team. Review & approve subcontractor allocation process. Participate in PMP reviews and implement or request improvement actions. Advise Procurement team on sourcing, negotiating and purchasing plant and equipment. About You: Ideally you will hold relevant qualifications to the position with experience working as a Construction Manager within the Telecommunications / Construction industry and also possess:
Proven experience in construction scheduling/planning with proficiency in PM tools & methodologies. Strong analytical & Problem-Solving skills to analyse performance metrics and mitigate schedule risks. Understands his/her role in creating shareholder value, business fundamentals (e.g. P&L, cost & revenue drivers, risk, legal, contracts). Management of budgets and controls costs effectively. Ability to interpret and implement architectural and engineering drawings and specifications. Project Management Diploma (Advantageous). Due to contractual requirements, we are seeking the incumbent be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Negative Vetting Level 1 and be an Australian Citizen.
