Job Description
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We are seeking a creative Corporate Communications Specialist with experience in engaging and inspiring internal audiences in a large, complex organisation.
Reporting to the Director International, this new role will take lead responsibility for building alignment and awareness internally across the university of our International Office and the recently approved Internationalisation Framework. You will also work closely with the International Office Deputy and Associate Directors, the University of Auckland's Corporate Communications Manager and Staff Communications Manager to ensure all activities are aligned with the International Office's goals.
To be successful in this role, you will need to display sound judgement and decision-making ability in a complex environment. It is essential that you have confidence to build strong working relationships with our executive leadership team and senior members of staff (academic and professional) across the University. This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), 12 month fixed term opportunity, with a salary range of $79,000 - $84,700 (pro rata) depending on skills and experience.

Under the leadership of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Engagement), the International Office supports international student recruitment, mobility and the development, maintenance and strengthening of key international relationships that will enhance and enable our ability to perform as a globally competitive University.

To succeed in this role it is essential that you are a confident communicator. This means you are confident in sharing your ideas and thoughts across a diverse range of people at all levels. You'll be a self-starter who is excited by the opportunity to make this role your own and get people on the journey with you.
A specialist who brings creative flair to the position, you will also be a skilled corporate communications specialist with experience either in-house in large, complex organisations or on the agency side advising clients, ideally both. Strong copy writing and design skills are essential to support an end-to-end internal comms solution.
You will need a good understanding of, and practical experience in, building an organisation's internal profile and reputation along with the ability to build strong working relationships across the University.
