Communications Specialist - Part-Time (20 Hours) Location: Hybrid (Royal Oak, Auckland + Work From Home) Contract: Permanent Part-Time Motor Neurone Disease New Zealand (MND NZ) is the leading charity supporting people affected by motor neurone disease in Aotearoa New Zealand. We work to improve the quality of life for those living with MND, fund research, and advocate for change. We are seeking a Communications Specialist to plan, develop, and implement a communications strategy that drives our mission and raises awareness for MND NZ's vital work. You will be instrumental in building our profile, engaging with key stakeholders, and ensuring the powerful stories of people impacted by MND are told. About the Role As Communications Specialist, you will: Develop and implement a communications strategy that aligns with our strategic goals.Create and manage content across various channels (newsletters, social media, website).Build relationships with media, journalists, and influencers.Support fundraising and campaign efforts by crafting compelling narratives and marketing materials.Work closely with people affected by MND to share their stories in an authentic, empathetic way.What You'll Need Proven experience in communications, PR, or marketing.Exceptional verbal and written skills with a talent for storytelling.Strong digital skills, including social media and website management (experience with Canva, WordPress, or similar tools is a plus).A collaborative, empathetic approach, particularly when working with sensitive stories.Passion for making a positive impact and advancing MND NZ's mission.Why Join Us?
