The role
GNS Science Te Pu Ao is working on some of the biggest challenges currently facing Aotearoa New Zealand and we have exciting stories to tell. We're looking for a graphic designer who can deliver quality visual products quickly in a high demand setting.
If you start a project thinking "how could I make this even better?" and get excited about delivering audience-focused content in new and innovative ways, then this role is for you. Responsibilities
You will plan, create and deliver still and motion graphics. You'll work with our communications advisers to tell stories about our people and our science, and support science teams with content guidance. You'll identify content gaps and opportunities and champion visual communications that exceed all expectations. You thrive on coming up with new ideas and bringing them to life.
About you
The ideal candidate will have:
advanced knowledge of current graphic development in a variety of platforms
ability to communicate complexity for audiences
a passion for people and their stories
a deep knowledge of graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Suite
the ability to contribute to and maintain digital asset management systems
an understanding of web content best practice as it applies to visual communications and brand standards
a great work ethic, the right mindset, and an appetite for success
Experience filming and producing video

This is a permanent, full time (38 hours per week) role and is based at our campus in Avalon, Lower Hutt.
The salary range for this position is between $87,975 to $97,750 depending on the successful candidate's experience.
