Responsibilities: Lead the committee as chairperson, ensuring meetings run smoothly and fostering open discussion.Serve as the spokesperson for Abbeyfield Waikato, while maintaining a balanced mix of skills, knowledge, and experience within the committee.Support the care of 11 residents, helping older individuals maintain their independence in a supportive community.Contribute to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals through this volunteering opportunity.Requirements: The position would suit a person with experience chairing or participating in committee meetings.Good level of integrity, sound judgement and able to commit to attending monthly meetings.Able to communicate appropriately and respectfully with residents.Initial and ongoing support with operational knowledge is available from experienced committee members and Abbeyfield National Office.A Police background check is required for this role.
Time commitment: 12-16 hours per month, including a monthly committee meeting.Getting started:
