Working as part of our Building Consents Unit, you will provide customer service excellence as you facilitate high quality consent outcomes. You will be providing effective and timely technical expertise and guidance in support of their building consent applications. You will be exposed to a variety of areas, tasks, and industries across the Building Act, such as building, plumbing, drainage, planning, and property manners.

Whether you have a background in building construction, building design, consent processing and/or inspections - whatever your expertise, we're looking for team players with experience in building and maintaining successful relationships with clients, their agents and internal teams. We are looking for someone who:
Holds a relevant regulation 18 qualification - find out more about regulation 18 here
Has at least Res 3 competency
Has at least 3 years' experience within the building industry, in any capacity
Has an understanding of the application of the Building Act and the Building Consent process
Has the ability to make appropriate decisions with regards to the building code performance clauses

Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week Position - Permanent Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street Salary - Salaries are negotiable and based on a 40 hour working week per annum. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
Level 1: $71,529 - $79,477 Level 2: $78,464 - $87,182 Level 3: $93,200 - $103,556 Senior: $101,882 - $113,202
