Colour Matching Technician

Working in the Colour Matching department you will be required to use Spectrophotometers and eye matching to match paint colours to our customers' colour standards. The Colour Matching Technician is responsible for matching colours to meet client specifications and production requirements. This role involves using XRite Spectrophotometers to predict and achieve precise colour matches for manufacturing purposes. The Colour Matching Technician will work closely with the production, quality control, and sales teams to ensure that colour consistency and quality are maintained throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
Use X-Rite Spectrophotometers to match colours, in colour, gloss level and texture.
Analyze new colours and formulate the colours accurately using spectrophotometry and eye matching.
Adjust initial matches to achieve an accurate match.
Physically mix colours working as part of a team.
Drawdown matches.
Manage Job Instructions to achieve best production rates and accuracy.
Approve colour matches and submit to customer internally or externally for approval.
Record all colour formulations, adjustments, and results in the colour database and job management system for future reference.
Work with a team to achieve production goals and output.
Minimum Required Skills:
High attention to detail and problem solving– critical skill
Strong understanding of colour theory
Understanding of colour and or some experience in colour work
Computer Literacy
iMatch X-Rite software – further training will be provided
MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Email)
