The Opportunity
Are you an organisational wiz? Do you have a passion for working with students and young people to help bring their ideas to life? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We are on the lookout for a new Club Development Coordinator to join our team. There are over 160 clubs and societies here at UC, and we need someone who is not afraid to get right amongst what they are all about – building relationships with them to support them with event planning, governance advice, administration support, grant funding, and organising engaging learning and development opportunities for them.
If you're a big fan of hearing wild ideas, guiding passionate people through the world of paperwork, finding inspiring speakers to upskill young leaders, and occasionally being the person to tell them that it's a fair cop and just need to pay the fine, then this is a great opportunity to use your skills in a great environment with a super diverse and fun group of students.
So, if you're ready to jump into the exciting world of clubs here at UC, we want to hear from you!
About You
You may be an experienced administrator or learning and development coordinator, or you may have only recently graduated with a relevant degree – what is important to us is that you are passionate about administration and supporting young students. We can teach you about governance structures, but you need to enjoy collaborating, be comfortable in a high-pace environment, be organised, and have excellent communication skills. Due to the nature of the role and the organisation, an affinity for and understanding of students is important.
Important Skills & Qualifications
A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g. advocacy, mediation, welfare, law, education)
2+ years industry experience in administration, learning and development, or a similar development type role would be advantageous, but not essential
Has a particular empathy, sensitivity and appreciation for students and the diverse ethnic, socio-economic, genders of the student body, staff and clients
A good understanding of what it means to work in a bi-culturally competent environment, or the openness to learn and grow in this space
Current and full drivers' licence
A creative, enquiring mind and the ability to "think outside the box"
Ability to work in a team and great sense of humour
