You will be responsible for helping them to identify and overcome barriers, and to influence positive changes in their lives. No two days are the same and you need to be resilient, innovative and have a passion for delivering outcomes that make a real difference in a young person's life.

Have experience working with youth and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing this groupBe aware of issues facing young people and understand youth cultureHave excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to handle conflict and challenging situations with an open and engaging mannerBe able to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of clients and community contactsHave excellent computer skills and experience with client management documentation and systemsDemonstrate empathy and resilienceHave an openness to and enjoyment of differences in values, beliefs and cultural practicesBe able to pass a Vulnerable Children's Safety checkPresbyterian Support aims to create a better life for everyone. Our social services are focused on whakawhanaungatanga and manakitanga (relationships and hospitality) to help build safer, stronger, more connected families/whanau and communities. This includes supporting older people/kaumatua to maintain their wellbeing and positive social connections as they age and helping children/tamariki, teens/rangatahi and families/whanau to learn, grow and thrive.
We have sites across the upper South Island covering the Tasman & Marlborough (Te Tau Ihu o te waka a Maui), West Coast (Te Tai Poutini) and Canterbury districts (Otautahi & Hakatere).
