Children'S Art Educator

Children'S Art Educator
Company:

Uxbridge Arts And Culture

Details of the offer

UXBRIDGE Arts and Culture delivers a large programme of afterschool and Saturday term time courses to children aged 6 - 12 years. We are looking to contract someone who has proven experience with teaching art to groups of children. They must kind and nurturing and be able to support and encourage children with all aspects of creativity and enjoying the love of art.

Making Pictures (ages 6 - 10) 9 - 10:30am

The children use various mediums such as paints, pastels, dyes, graphite pencils and more. The tutors generally use a step-by-step process teaching children about layout and composition principles as they go. Children learn new application techniques using brushes and sponges. Children usually complete 3 to 4 projects per term, depending on the group's advancement. All materials are provided.

Drawing and Painting (ages 8 - 12) 10:30am - 12pm

This course is similar to Making Pictures, but tutors get children to explore more and help them gain confidence to develop an individual style.

The ideal candidate will have an art degree, some teaching experience and would enjoy teaching children art on a Saturday morning during term time. We are happy to pay for experience accordingly, this is not a position that will suit someone looking specifically for an income stream. Rather someone who loves teaching children art.
