We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chef to join our team of culinary staff providing our own commercial catering services (Can Do Catering) and in-house meal provision for our kiritaki/clients. We are looking for someone who can achieve optimum results in relation to culinary delivery along with strong relationship skills.
As a member of the culinary teams for Can Do Catering and the Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust you will:
Be involved in preparing meals for kiritaki/clients as well as catering for functions.
Be culinary creative, assisting with menu planning and food quality.
Be involved in special event creation, planning, and delivery.
Build relationships with kiritaki/clients, stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
Have a good understanding of food safety compliance.

You will:
Have a background with proven experience as a chef in a high-paced, multi-layered food and beverage operation such as functions, retail outlets, or event catering businesses.
Be able to lead a team of chefs/cooks in cooking and preparing meals, including checking food quality and overseeing cooking techniques when required.
Be an articulate and highly effective communicator.
Have a desire to make a difference in others' lives.
Experience with therapeutic diets would be great but it's not a deal breaker.
The Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust is an independent not-for-profit organisation that specialises in providing a range of services for people who have suffered acquired or traumatic brain injury, from residential care to community-based assessment and rehabilitation across the Canterbury region.
Based in Burnside Christchurch, Can Do Catering is a catering company with a difference. We make delicious food for any event while also giving younger adults with physical impairments the chance of employment. This social enterprise run by the Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust provides paid employment for a number of residents of the Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust, for whom mainstream employment is not an option due to their care needs.
