Friends cafe and bar is a modern cafe and bar aiming to specialise in Nepalese, Continental and Italian cuisine, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner focused on using high-quality produce.
We are looking for 3 Chefs to cater for Lunch and Dinner operations to join our professional staff of 4 and grow within the role!
Reporting to the owners your duties and responsibilities will include:
Prepare and cook food
Lead, mentor, and manage the culinary team.
Develop and plan menus and daily specials.
Create prep lists for the kitchen crew.
Manage food costs, inventory and ordering supplies.
Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, appearance and presentation.
Ensure compliance with applicable health codes and regulations.
Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas.
Interview, vet, and select kitchen staff.
Schedule staff and assist in human resources processes as needed.
Manage kitchen staff and report to employer.

Skills and experience:
Prior experience as a Chef in a comparable restaurant
Proven experience leading kitchen staff of 5
Knowledge in specialty coffee, Nepali, Continental, Italian food and wine is highly regarded
Passion for Nepali, Continental and Italian cuisine!
About Friends cafe and bar:
Friends cafe is currently offering breakfast, lunch and brunch to the people of Western Bay of Plenty, Papamoa. We have a very strong loyal local customer base that supports us. We are open from 7 am to 2 pm serving breakfast, lunch and brunch. However, we are targeting to extend our working hours by offering dinner too until 10 pm. We want to offer more options to our customers, thus we want to introduce cuisine like Nepalese, Continental and Italian.
Our aim is to reach people's hearts through our food and give the best dining experience.
