He angitutanga | About the role The Business Assurance Analyst is a newly established role within the Business Assurance Services team In this role, you will be responsible for gathering and analysing information, data and evidence gathered from various sources, including statutory reporting to support risk assessments and Assurance reviews.
The role will focus on key responsibilities, including: * supporting Business Assurance Services function to analyse and interpret data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement within our internal controls, systems, and processes across DOC functions * assisting in the planning, execution, and management of assurance reviews by gathering relevant data and documentation, evaluating key processes, systems, and controls to identify risks and inefficiencies, ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and internal policies and report preparation * helping track audit findings and ensure timely follow-ups on action plans.
This will involve liaising with internal stakeholders to collect and validate information for audits and assurance reporting * overseeing the maintenance of our Integrity Policies such as conflict of interest, gifts and benefits and fraud prevention including providing guidance to staff on compliance with integrity policies and procedures Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of our new risk and assurance management tool.
There may be some requirements for travel.
Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience We are looking for a skilled analyst with experience in assurance, risk management, or auditing, ideally within the public sector or environmental/conservation organisations, who can quickly get up to speed and make an immediate impact.
We would love to hear from you if you have the following qualifications and experience: * A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, business, risk management or a related field, with professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA, CISA, CIA) being a plus.
* Experience in managing assurance systems, including familiarity with risk management, assurance processes and integrity policies.
* The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a small team and taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
* Experience in conducting internal audits and reviews.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of people, including senior leaders.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
* A strong analytical mindset for addressing complex data-related challenges.
* Advanced Excel skills and a keen eye for detail.
* A current, valid full New Zealand driver license.
Desirable: * Experience with or familiarity with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools.

The salary range for this position is $79,656 - $100,639 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
