This is a full-time fixed term position until June 2026.The Ministry has established a small, adaptive, and focussed delivery team that is responsible for leading the standardisation of emissions calculation practices across the agricultural sector.As part of this role, you will:Take the role as Product owner of the farm-level agricultural Green House Gas (GHG) emissions estimation methodology.Jointly lead engagement with internal and external sector and science experts to prioritise enhancements to the farm-level methodology.Advise on research priorities related to the measurement and estimation of agricultural emissions.Develop implementation approaches for methodological enhancements and coding them in 'R.'Provide mentoring, coaching, and advice to colleagues.To be successful in this role, you'll have a passion for data and climate change, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quantitative analysis.Your strong collaboration and communication skills will help you build lasting networks across government and the primary sector.To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:Relevant experience in a highly similar working environment; or extensive experience in quantitative analysis and coding (R, shiny).Strong analytical ability to gather and manage data.Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across a range of groups.Mentoring and training skills to enable staff growth and development.Ability to work in an agile and changing environment.This is a Wellington based role working alongside a collaborative team.
