It has 63 rooms, a café, and prides itself on being a family-friendly, pet-friendly hotel with outstanding service offerings, and all the best little extras for guests that Jet Park Hotel is well known for!We are seeking an experienced breakfast cook who is passionate about creating delicious meals! You will be responsible for food preparation/cooking of the breakfast menu, staff meals, and prep for the evening menu, and maintaining the cleaning & physical appearance of the kitchen and equipment. It will be a bonus if you also love baking! You may also help serve and clear food in the café area. From time to time you may be asked to work an evening shift.You will be rostered 5 morning shifts per week (including weekends - usually Mon/Tues or Tues/Wed days off) and be flexible to provide cover for periods of increased occupancy. This position is available for around 30 hours per week, ideally starting the first week of January 2025 if possible.To be considered for this role you will offer:Breakfast cooking skills or a chef's qualification and understanding of food hygiene.Preferably you will have at least 1 year of experience working in a similar position in a café or commercial kitchen.Passionate about creating great food!Must be able to work 5 shifts per week, including weekend mornings.Reliable, use initiative, and able to "take charge" of the kitchen as you will be working as the only cook.We offer an excellent working environment, great staff benefits, along with the opportunity for ongoing learning and development.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or hold a valid work visa; unfortunately, the Hotel is NOT able to support those who require work visa support for a new work visa.Please apply with a cover letter and CV detailing what days/times you are available for work.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as a Breakfast Cook?How many years' experience do you have as a cook?Do you hold a current Food Safety certificate?How many hours are you available to work per week?How much notice are you required to give your current employer?What's your expected hourly rate?Are you available to work public holidays?
