Bachelor Of Nursing Maori Programme Lead (Te Tohu Paetahi Tikanga Rangatira Aa-Tapuhi)

Details of the offer

Are you a Registered Nurse with acute inpatient and/or community experience? Are you passionate about supporting nursing student's success in a degree programme?
If your answer is yes to these questions, we have got the perfect role for you here at Te Whare Takiura o Manukau (MIT).
Our School of Nursing is seeking a highly motivated registered nurse who is passionate about the advancement of Maori nursing practice, is committed to the improvement of Maori health disparities, and addressing Hauora Maori. The successful candidate will come with a strong clinical background in nursing, preferably with nursing education experience, a current practising certificate and a Master's degree.
If you have a passion for nursing, akoranga (teaching) and advancement of Hauora Maori, have outstanding communication skills, established Maori networks and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds, we would like to hear from you!
While the role requires a Master's degree and research activity, applicants on a developmental pathway may be considered on a case by case basis for a Kaiwhakaako (lecturer) role.
At MIT you will work with some incredible people who are passionate about the positive impact we make to the communities we serve. We offer a work environment which values genuine people who care for others, are well-connected, open and approachable and strive for excellence in all we do. If you are excited by the role and feel you would fit well into our organisation, we would love to hear from you.
Kua herea matou ki te whai i te tuturutanga o Te Tiriti O Waitangi. We are committed to creating and maintaining a culturally sensitive work environment in relation to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
MIT is committed to ensuring our workforce reflects the diversity of our tauira (students) and the rich cultures represented within the local community we serve. We know how important it is for our tauira and kaimahi (staff) to have their culture and values reflected in our way of working and in the people we recruit. To support this, MIT seeks to grow the number of Maori and Pasifika kaimahi across our Institute and gives recognition to applicants who demonstrate Maori and/or Pasifika cultural knowledge and skills.
If you would like any further information please contact Shallu Tokas, People and Culture, (09) 976 0221.
Applications will be reviewed as they come in and interviews may commence prior to the close date, Thursday, 16 January 2025. Depending on the quality of applications for this role, the closing date for applications may be brought forward. So, don't delay, apply now!
