You will be part of a school counselling/wellbeing service, working with school leadership teams, children and whanau to understand and support the wellbeing needs of the akonga/learners at the school and within their whanau. You will be experienced at working with tamariki, whanau and local communities and will have a strong commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi. This is a permanent part-time position based in Foxton for 32 hours per fortnight. School terms only. There may be an additional 2 weeks of call back days throughout the year for team training in school holidays. A Wellbeing Specialist is responsible for the delivery of high-quality professional services based on personalised assessment, individual or group therapy and education in wellbeing for a wide range of psychological and psychosocial issues, consistent with our contract obligations with government agencies, funders and other providers. Your work with clients will be person-centred, efficient and innovative. You will use a range of evidence-based assessment and therapeutic models and work alongside clients and other disciplines to facilitate sustained and enduring change, stabilisation and/or safety for the client. Experience in providing a range of strengths-based counselling modalities appropriate to a range of issues e.g. bereavement, trauma, parenting, self-harm, anxiety, resilience Able to apply Maori models of wellbeing and basic tikanga practices to protect the cultural safety of Maori clients, team members, and self Experience or validated training in relevant interventions such as CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR A current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) as relevant to membership/registration An understanding and commitment to the Code of Health and Disabilities Services Consumer Rights, Professional and regulatory requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including competence in professional report writing Proven ability to work in teams Specialist knowledge and understanding of the principles of evidence-based therapeutic approaches Ability to conduct appropriate (including complex) case formulation Ability to undertake evaluation alongside clinical practice and develop and deliver training programmes to a wide variety of audiences Experience with Microsoft Office Suite A current driver's license for community-based practitioners Ability to travel and flexibility to stay overnight for business-related needs if required We provide you with training to support you to learn the role With respect and autonomy, your practice will develop to best suit the people you support We recognise the importance of work/life balance, and we provide a workplace with flexibility We promote a safe and supportive environment where colleagues can share and learn from one another We pride ourselves on providing competitive salaries, supervision and professional development and progression to ensure you can deliver the best support for our clients and achieve successful outcomes How to apply | Me pehea ki te tono Please apply via our website on the link below with your CV and a cover letter.
