Automation Engineer (Intermediate)

The CompanyThis is an established company in Auckland that designs and delivers automated production machinery and product handling and tracking systems in the food production and warehousing/distribution sectors. They also work with a local machine building OEM and provide service as well.The RoleWe are looking for an Automation Engineer at the intermediate level (e.g., 3 to 5 years of experience) to:Design, program, and commission industrial automation projectsPerform maintenance and troubleshooting with existing clientsThe company is willing to train the right candidate. You must be able to program PLC code from scratch, ideally with experience in Rockwell/Allen Bradley and/or Beckhoff PLC's coding in Ladder Logic and/or Structured Text.On the SCADA side, experience with Wonderware and Ignition or other SCADA packages, as well as proficiency in Python and Visual Basic or high-level languages like C++, C# on .Net, is desired.You'll be joining a team of 3 other engineers and may need to travel outside Auckland 3 to 5 days per month. The role is salaried for 40 hours a week with potential for overtime during project commissioning periods.Role Snapshot:Design and implement RFID product data tracking systemsIntegration with 3rd party systemsDesign and program PLC, SCADA, and HMICommission projects onsiteClient Consultation and TrainingTechnical support and troubleshootingThis role offers a good variety in automation work with projects, maintenance, troubleshooting, and exposure to different client types and sectors.
