CAPS Hauraki (child abuse prevention services) multidisciplinary team works together to make a difference in the lives of families within our local communities. This role will work as a part of the team to identify barriers and support solutions that enable all learners to attend school regularly.
On a daily basis, the Attendance Services Advisor will work alongside schools, students, and their whanau to encourage regular school attendance. Core skills required for this role are:

The ability to inspire and motivate young people to succeed
Ability to walk alongside whanau to identify barriers, problem solve solutions, and support access to resources/information that enables learners to return to and remain in education
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to run workshops and organise small events
Experience in managing a caseload and/or excellent organisational skills
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders
Able to demonstrate initiative, good judgement, and flexibility
Full New Zealand Drivers License (essential)
A good sense of humour and commitment to being part of a team
This position is classed as a Core Worker and will need to pass a safety check, inclusive of Police Vetting, under the Children's Act 2014
