About Us: Friends' cafe and bar,
Friends cafe is currently offering a breakfast,lunch and brunch to the people of Western Bay of plenty, papamoa. We have a very strong loyal local customers who supports us. We are open from 7 am to 2 pm serving breakfast, lunch and brunch. However, we are targeting to extend our working hours by offering dinner too until 10 pm. We want to offer more option to our customers thus, we want to introduce cusine like Nepalese, Continental and Italian.
Our aim is to reach people heart through our food and give the best dinning experience.
The Role:
You'll be working closely with the owners, leading the kitchen and bar team, and helping keep everything running smoothly. supporting the floor team, cashing up, briefing the kitchen on or chatting with guests, you'll be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day. You'll also manage stock, supplier relationships, and some back-of-house duties. This is a hands-on role.
What You'll Be Doing:
• Leading the bar team – training, mentoring, and ensuring smooth service
• Working the floor & door as needed to keep service flowing
• Working with the restaurant owners to manage staff and overall operations
• Cash-ups, opens & closes
• Collaborating with the wider management team on menu changes and projects
• Staying on top of stock control and supplier relationships
• Supporting our sustainability goals, without sacrificing quality
• Handling some cost control and reporting tasks
• Ensuring guests have a great experience and want to come back
What You'll Bring:
• 1+ years in a bar or restaurant environment
• Duty Manager's license (or willing to get one)
• Leadership skills and the ability to support and motivate a team
• A commitment to sustainability and innovative practices
• Ability to stay calm and focused in a busy environment
• Must be available to work on weekends and public holidays
