At Downer, we are committed to providing exceptional asset management services through innovation and technical excellence. We are currently seeking an experienced Asset Information Manager to join our team in Napier/Hastings. This role is crucial in managing and analysing asset information data, ensuring top-tier service delivery to our clients, and fostering the growth and development of our contract teams.
As the Asset Information Manager, you will provide specialised technical asset management services and play a key role in enhancing our IT systems used for asset management. You will oversee the integrity and quality of operational and asset information, develop and implement best practices, and ensure effective data management across the region.
Key responsibilities of this role also include:
Maintain Downer job management system ensuring availability for operational staff
Provide expert input into managing client asset information systems, ensuring data quality and completeness.
Support automated systems for data collection and ensure compliance with the Transport Knowledge Hub (TKH)
Maintain functional relationships with a range of stakeholders including client representatives, contract managers, inspectors, and internal teams
Support the compilation and updating of asset data for client forward works programmes
Investigate and analyse data requested, ensuring accurate and well-presented deliverables

We are looking for an Asset Information Manager with a robust blend of technical skills and operational experience. This role is crucial for managing and enhancing our information systems, ensuring data quality and providing exceptional user support. You will ideally have a background in information systems within an operational setting and are adept at training and supporting users. You will also bring with you:
A tertiary qualification in information technology – this is preferred
Proven experience in overseeing information systems in an operational environment, including managing system interfaces, data health, and system testing
Demonstrated ability in training users and providing ongoing support, ensuring they are proficient and confident in using information systems
Broad technical expertise in managing information systems, with skills in data cleansing, system testing, and managing user permissions. Experience with report development process documentation is a plus.
Advanced skills in MS Excel, including the use of formulae and data integrity checks. Numeracy skills to support formulae and spreadsheet usage are essential.
A background in roading and/or infrastructure knowledge would be well regarded
