Position OverviewAs an Application Services Manager, you will oversee external application vendor service delivery, manage escalations, and conduct regular account management meetings to evaluate vendor performance against deliverables and SLAs. You will handle application service contract negotiations and renewals, track the performance of managed services partners for line of business applications, and manage the on-call/afterhours support framework for critical applications.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and support related to the external development of Watercare applications.Continuously gather feedback from and set expectations with all relevant stakeholders (especially product owners and stream leads).Actively support squads by clarifying and prioritizing external application support decisions.Track spending holistically to assess the value derived from application enhancements across the entire budget.Contribute to the contract renewal process by factoring in various considerations (usage, development, new functionality, inflation).Contribute towards strategy for building a world-class application support framework.Ensure consistency of application support standards and tools across squads in conjunction with Application Core manager.Contribute to the application roadmap and strategy to deliver core platform features to support evolving business requirements.Review adoption and usage of tools with Stream Leads.Evaluate productivity and quality of enhancements delivered by vendors to determine if they remain the right choice for driving outcomes.Work together with the Application support manager to influence how application support can enable new sources of value.Collaborate with stream leads to ensure that each team strives to achieve their derived application support milestones delivered by vendors and understands support requirements of the products they oversee.Minimum RequirementsRelevant Tertiary Qualifications3-5 years' experience as an Application Services Manager or equivalent roleRecognised and relevant technology industry qualificationsExperience working in agile methodologyFinancial acumen managing budgetsGreat leadership skills with clear communication of strategy and purposeSound problem-solving skillsAble to assess priorities and self-manageHas a
