Exciting opportunity for an experienced Agile Project Manager Help to lead a brand new project Use your Agile coaching skills to set up squads to deliver project outcomes 3 year fixed term role Korero mo te turanga - About the role

We are looking for a motivated Agile Project Manager to join our team, where you will be working within the Location Information business group to support the successful delivery of the 3D Coastal Mapping (3DCM) project over the next three years.

This project will see up to 40% of Aotearoa New Zealand's coastline mapped using high-resolution airborne LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) mapping and the installation of 10 Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) stations, co-located at existing tide gauge stations.

3DCM will significantly improve the baseline data upon which resilience to coastal hazards and climate change impacts can be assessed and mitigated. This role is homed in Delivery Capability and based full-time with Location Information in the Wellington office.

You will work with three work squads contributing to 3DCM as well as supporting these squads in their other work. This is your opportunity to join us and make a meaningful contribution to our Agile journey and to Toitu Te Whenua's wider transformation to deliver more value for New Zealand.

He pukenga tou - Skills & Experience

You will draw on your previous experience as an Agile Project Manager to support the squads to deliver the programme of work. As a servant leader, you'll champion agile ways of working as you coach other squad members to communicate, coordinate, and cooperate to meet their delivery goals.

You'll foster an environment to drive high-performing squad dynamics, continuous improvement, and value to the customer. A strong technical understanding will allow you to quickly resolve impediments for the squads by actively addressing and unblocking any issues that are beyond the team's authority, allowing the squad to stay focused on Sprint objectives.

With your excellent communication, facilitation and organisational skills, you'll enjoy facilitating the scrum process, meetings and workshops (e.g. Retros, Planning, Refining) in an engaging manner.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Clearly defining the purpose, outcomes, scope, expected costs, benefits, risks/opportunities and resource needs for allocated projects and managing these appropriately. Supporting the Programme Lead to ensure the work is prioritised and ensuring all stakeholders have the level of detail required to make informed decisions. Coaching and educating the squads and others in the project around Agile ways of working, practices and principles. Holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work, helping them to identify, mitigate and resolve issues/risks, and ensuring they comply with any reporting requirements. Resolving impediments for the team by actively addressing and unblocking any issues that are beyond the team's authority, or which may require support from other teams. Organising and facilitating the Agile ceremonies. The annual salary range for this position is $102,223 - $138,302.
