Crown Law provides legal advice and representation to the Government in matters that affect everyone in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Our work ranges from the enforcement of criminal law and protection of the revenue, to matters involving human rights and the Treaty of Waitangi / te Tiriti o Waitangi. Our counsel appear at all levels of court in Aotearoa New Zealand, from the Supreme Court through to the District Court and various tribunals. Join us at Crown Law and work closely with the Manager of Planning and Performance to shape our agency's future through strategic planning, performance measures, and risk management. In our smaller, tight-knit agency, what you do truly matters and has a direct impact on our success.
We're on the lookout for a driven individual with 1-2 years of public service experience who's ready to step up and make a difference. If you're passionate about relationship management and have a solid understanding of how government works, we want to hear from you.
What you will bring to the team:
Strong communication skills - both written and interpersonal - and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organisation
Experience with accountability documents like Annual Reports, Strategic Intentions, Annual review and Estimates review
Knowledge of performance reporting and developing performance measures
Experience or interest in risk management and risk reporting
A strong understanding of the machinery of government and how it operates
Some knowledge of official correspondence, including the Official Information Act and the Privacy Act would be beneficial.

A starting salary range of between $81,064 and $100,370 with further room to progress. The appointing salary will be based on skills and experience
