About the role:As the Advisor Finance, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will have fundamental financial skills in a wide range of areas, particularly financial and management accounting, and you will be passionate about developing these skills further.We are looking for someone to:deliver relevant, reliable, timely, and accurate financial information to our stakeholders.support the team to partner with the business, delivering sound financial advice and promoting strong fiscal managementsupport a smooth month-end processprepare financial accountability documents and submissionsbe agile across the team, lending support and assistance where it is needed mostYou will be a qualified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent professional qualification) or be working towards a professional accounting qualification.
A strong service ethic will enable you to quickly form trusted relationships with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
You will have strong excel skills and will enjoy learning new skills and systems.Experience in the public sector and a sound knowledge of the legislative framework (including the Public Finance Act) and other guidelines that apply to financial management and accounting in the government is an advantage.About the team and group:Our finance team is small but with a lot of influence.
There is a strong emphasis on sound fiscal management across the Public Service, giving the team a unique opportunity to overhaul the Commission's approach to fiscal management.
