Are you looking for a new challenge? Health New Zealand Southern has an exciting opportunity for you to make your mark. We are seeking an experienced Administrator to join our busy Emergency Department at Southland Hospital on a fixed-term, part-time basis. Our Administrators work on a 24/7 roster, so it is essential you are flexible and available to work across all shift patterns. Mo te turanga - About the role Our Emergency Department is a busy service and provides care for approximately 38,500 attendances every year. We have a triage area, a rapid assessment area, dedicated resuscitation areas, acute, sub-acute and paediatric cubicles. Our department carries out all acute care, including full patient resuscitation facilities, management of trauma, fractures, injuries etc. The ED's vision is to be a centre of clinical care and customer service excellence. We pride ourselves on having a strong focus on customer service and its success is reliant on effective communication and teamwork. Mou ake - About you This is a fast-paced environment, and experienced applicants will thrive in this busy front-line area of the hospital. We are looking for someone to carry out varied administrative duties to support the wider team and ensure our department runs smoothly. You will have excellent organisational and time management skills in addition to a professional can-do attitude in line with our values. Naturally you will have a friendly and welcoming nature and be comfortable interacting with patients both in person and on the phone. As an experienced administrator you will also be skilled at juggling multiple priorities and able to remain calm under pressure. Ideally you will bring the following skills and experience: * Previous experience in a busy administration role * Be competent and confident using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook * Have excellent word processing and data entry skills, with a strong eye for detail * Flexible approach with the ability to successfully prioritise your workload * Respectful nature handling confidential, often sensitive information in a professional manner You will be joining a dedicated, supportive and friendly team of health professionals, providing invaluable support to families when they need it most.
