The finance team has oversight of key business processing, including payroll, accounts payable (from invoice matching through to supplier payments), accounts receivable as well as general ledger maintenance, budgeting & forecasting, cash flow management, bank or other reconciliations, and ownership of finance-related systems.
The role The role of Accountant is crucial to the accurate and timely reporting of financial information to drive the performance of the business. The position provides broad scope across the finance function through supporting the Finance Manager in the preparation of financial information and ad-hoc reports as required.
As a key member of the Waipapa Pine business, this role not only supports the Commercial Manager of Fletcher Wood Products and the Finance Manager of Waipapa Pine, but also engages broadly across the wider Waipapa Pine business in the preparation and presentation of financial information to a range of stakeholders.
The role is involved with: Month end reporting Bank reconciliations and cash management Accounts Payable and Receivable Payroll preparation (fortnightly) Taxation compliance Assisting with the stock take process Compliance While the current role sits in Whangarei, we are open to the successful candidate operating out of our Waipapa site in the Bay of Islands.
You will bring: Great communication and interpersonal skills Enjoy collaborating with other teams and communicating at all levels of the business Ability to analyse, organise, and present key numeric and financial data effectively Logical problem solving with well-reasoned recommendations Ability to identify and implement improvements Ideally you will have: Bachelor of Business/Commerce in Accounting (or equivalent) Hold a CA qualification or be studying towards this Minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience (if qualified) or 5-7 years experience which includes at least two years accounting-related work. Previously worked with Xero Knowledge of Smartly, Approval Max, Dext Proven experience with Excel and other Microsoft related tools is essential Knowledge of International Reporting Standards and knowledge of NZ tax regimes Remember, this is our wishlist.
