The 'Kaupapa' that we all embrace here at MUMA is 'WHANAU FIRST', as 'Our Whanau are our Future'.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Management & Development:Design, implement, and oversee youth service programs that meet the needs of rangatahi and their whanau.Ensure programs align with MUMA's Whanau Services model, incorporating cultural, social, and educational objectives.Foster a continuous improvement culture, adapting services based on feedback, trends, and best practices.Recruit, lead, and develop a team of youth workers, coordinators, and support staff.Provide coaching and performance management to ensure high-quality service delivery.Foster a collaborative, supportive, and culturally aware team environment.Community Engagement & Partnership Development:Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including local schools, iwi, government agencies, and other service providers.Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for service expansion and resource sharing.Represent MUMA at community meetings, events, and forums to advocate for youth services.Develop and manage budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet program goals.Oversee data collection, reporting, and evaluation to track program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.Ensure compliance with funding agreements, contractual obligations, and regulatory standards.Strategic Planning & Reporting:Contribute to the development of MUMA's strategic goals for youth services.Provide regular progress reports to senior management and funders.Participate in quarterly and annual review and adaptation processes for youth service programs.Qualifications & Experience:Experience in managing government-funded programs.Knowledge of risk management, quality assurance, and reporting processes.Strong understanding of South Auckland's social, economic, and cultural landscape.Proven experience working with Maori communities and an understanding of Te Ao Maori and tikanga.Cultural Competence: Deep understanding and respect for Maori culture, values, and protocols.Leadership Skills: Strong team management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead by example.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage with diverse audiences.Problem Solving: Proactive and resourceful in addressing issues that affect youth service delivery.Strategic Vision: Ability to align program goals with MUMA's long-term mission and adapt to changing community needs.
