About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Yard Mechanical Lead to join our team. In this role, you will lead the Porirua yard, ensuring all machines and equipment are in excellent working condition, and lead the team that ensures the machines and equipment are clean and rental ready.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Leading the yard, ensuring machinery and equipment are clean and ready for hire. Checking for any equipment faults and fixing minor faults upon return. Cleaning and preparing machinery and equipment for hire. Coordinating the staff in the Wash Bay and Yard. Carrying out quality control checks on machines and equipment. Instructing and demonstrating to customers on how to safely use our equipment. This is a varied role that will require you to work across the yard. Ideally, you will be experienced with a wide range of machinery and will be running the yard team, sharing your machinery knowledge to find faults and fix machines that are returned from hire.
Skills/Experience Required: Experience in mechanics and working in a yard that requires you to be proactive and take a lead. Self-motivated team player who enjoys getting stuck in. Full New Zealand driver's license, including class 2 (preferred). Experience operating earth moving machinery and equipment is advantageous. This role will be based in Porirua, however, training will take place at the Palmerston North Office for the first few weeks as part of our induction programme.
