Vehicle adaptions are experts in the modification of vehicles for disabled drivers, and we thrive on meeting our client's unique needs! Our passion is making the world a better place by providing transport options to people living with disabilities. We are looking for a multiskilled engineer who can grow to lead the workshop team of engineering technicians, auto-electrician, and apprentices, to work in a positive, highly productive manner. You will facilitate the completion of quality custom engineering work on vehicles to meet Vehicle Adaptions' promises to clients and stakeholders. Planning skills, collaborations skills and the ability to get the best out of a varied team, are some of the attributes we are after.  You will be able to personally demonstrate that you are competent at producing high quality engineering work. Ideally, you'll be trade qualified, have excellent MIG and TIG welding, fabrication skills and competency machining on a lathe, as well as being able to think outside the box.  We need someone who has strong diagnostic skills and who can follow our procedures. Each modification is bespoke to the client; therefore we need the candidate to approach each job as an individualised piece of work, working to LVVTA automotive standards. As this work is certifiable, it must be completed to a high standard, and you must be able to foster healthy working relationships with our certifiers and clients alike. Being able to do design build engineering is a key part of the role, collaborating with the team to ensure innovative outcomes, teaching and mentoring younger staff. You also need to be able to follow engineering drawings. A continuous improvement mindset is advantageous. The successful person will be adaptable to respond to ever changing work demand and be able to share examples of working with all kinds of people.  It would be an advantage to you if you can demonstrate to us your: innovation, customer focus, care for your team and if you have some quoting and health and safety experience.
