About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead our team of engineering tradespeople and ensure the seamless day-to-day operations of the workshop. Reporting to the General Manager, in this pivotal role you will provide direction and guidance to the team as you ensure the delivery of products and services of the highest standard, on time and in a cost-effective manner. Based in Invercargill, this is a full-time role working Monday to Friday.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be a qualified tradesperson with a background in mechanical engineering and the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of people. Organised and practical, you will have a high level of technical competence and experience leading people. Effective communication skills and a sense of humour are essential, and you must be committed to promoting a positive workplace culture.
We would love to hear from candidates who fit these criteria, and who have:
Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
Working knowledge of, and a commitment to, workplace health and safety practices
Experience implementing quality assurance processes
A good level of competency across MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
The ability to read and interpret draft plans for the purpose of estimating project time and costs
A general understanding of HR principles and practices
Professional workmanship standards
